Looking More & More Like the Temperature Will Absolutely Tank TonightAugust 14th, 2014 at 5:50 pm by Chad Evans under Chad's WLFI Weather Blog
Thank you everyone for your questions! I appreciate them very much!
Late Summer-Fall-Winter-Spring-Summer 2014-15 outlook will be up near/after midnight.
With unseasonably dry air bleeding in, dropping dew points into the 30s over parts of the area this evening , & winds going calm with a strong low-level inversion, the temperature will crash.
In fact, lows of 42-49 look increasingly likely (even with highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s today)!
This is reminiscent of 2009 when we dropped into the 40s in late August & the Starke County Airport actually dropped to 37!
One cool snap in early July like we had was not a big deal, but multiple cool snaps over & over again & now this will make this a summer to remember! It puts it in a different category in the top 10 coolest (likely as of tomorrow).
