8:45 P.M. Update

June 30th, 2014 at 8:42 pm by under Chad's WLFI Weather Blog

We are still very steamy & unstable as of 8:45 p.m.  It is 83 at WLFI with a dew point of 77!

Wall of damaging winds of up to 65 mph are found about 15 miles northwest of the Kankakee River with Severe T’Storm Warnings.

As this bows out, warning for northern Newton/Jasper is possible by 9 p.m.

Main derecho is racing into western Michigan & through northeastern Illinois to as far south as Kankakee & near Pontiac.

Will continue to watch bow & tail end of derecho.  There is a line of agitated cumulus from derecho tail end back to second line of storms.  This also in a very unstable area that is boiling with energy for storms.

We may see derecho back build &/or second line tend to gradually merge with it.
