11:33 P.M. Update

April 14th, 2014 at 11:28 pm by under Chad's WLFI Weather Blog

Clouds are breaking up in central Illinois & even in parts of our western half.  So, potential of lunar eclipse viewing is there, mainly after 3 a.m.  Fingers are crossed!

In the mean time, snow is passing through with a quick patchy dusting on gusty north winds to 31 mph at times.  We have a dusting on the grass & car tops at the station right now.  It has so far amounted to a trace.

As for tomorrow, any cumulus/stratocumulus may linger to early afternoon mixed with sun.  Thinking it will go mostly sunny by mid-afternoon & after temperatures struggle to reach 40 (due to some clouds & ample mixing with gusty north-northwest winds to 35 mph), we will see a late-day rally to 40-45 as winds back off.

Tomorrow night, the winds will calm, but rising heights with warm air advection & potential commencement of south breeze late, am inclined to believe that temperatures will level off at 25-29.  I prefer this, rather than earlier opinion today of 22-26.

With strong south winds Wednesday & mostly sunny skies, 54-60 still look good.

Strong southwest winds to 45 mph Thursday & strong sinking air will result in a 63-68 day (67 Lafayette area).  This will occur ahead of a clipper racing southeastward, which will bring some scattered showers/t’showers Friday (highs 58-63).

Behind clipper, strong northwest winds & highs of 54-58 are likely Saturday with 30-35 Saturday night.

Another wonderful winter like day. Snow on the ground covering everything but the roads. It will not reach 40 f today with stiff winds off the icy lakes. At least the sun will melt the remaining snow. Enjoy everyone!

    Hi Jan..

I’ve checked the Berry Nest many times overnite (stayed up hoping to see the lunar eclipse..yeah right…and bad case of insomnia) and everytime I looked B3 was alone..

Am hoping someone at the College will post an “update”..am a bit concerned that something has happened to the parents…

I’m not on Facebook so can’t read the entire comments being posted but appears a lot of viewers are also concerned..
