Rainfall TotalsSeptember 19th, 2013 at 9:52 am by Chad Evans under Chad's WLFI Weather Blog
East half had heavy rain lastnight-this morning. West half had much, much less. At WLFI, we picked up 2.12″ of rainfall, the heaviest 24-hour rainfall total since late May when 2.13″ fell.
From yesterday morning to this morning, totals vary from a trace to 5.41″ northeast of Rensselaer.
Cluster of storms moved southeast, then nearly due south from Jasper & White County overnight-this morning, dumping heavy rainfall with frequent lightning.
Interestingly, far west-central Jasper County received very little & much of Newton County received very little. It was about 30% of the viewing area that received the heavy +1″ rains with about 60% of the viewing area since yesterday getting +0.10″ of rainfall.
A few scattered showers/storms are possible today-tonight with more widespread showers/storms Friday. Severe threat is still confined to areas northwest of here, but we will monitor.
This is the last posting until tonight, as I am gone today.
