Weekend OutlookJuly 5th, 2013 at 10:11 pm by Chad Evans under Chad's WLFI Weather Blog
Highs today were in the 80s from 88 at Danville, Illinois Airport ASOS to 84 at Fulton County Airport AWOS to 85 at WLFI, 85 at Covington, 82 at Rensselaer, & 83 at Atlanta. Remington had 82, while the Jasper County Airport AWOS had 81.
Tonight will only drop into the upper 60s with more 80s tomorrow. Highs will vary from 80 to 88. With partly to mostly cloudy skies, temperatures will tend to be towards 80-83 where clouds are thicker in our eastern & southeastern to southern areas.
Heat waves reside west & east of us with weak, cut-off upper low in the middle. That (with upper ridge to the east) is pumping the tropical moisture northward. The moisture has origins deep in the Eastern Pacific (where Erick & Dalila reside) & in the Gulf (where Chatal may develop).
This will keep it seasonably warm & humid around here with scattered storms Saturday-Wednesday with perhaps a couple rounds of more organized storms (with severe threat perhaps) as upper jet dips southward some late Wednesday-Thursday night. This regime will actually be conducive to a couple MCS’s (complexes of storms) here at that time.
