We just hit 81.3 as of 3:30 p.m. at WLFI.  A few showers/t’storms are just now popping in Newton County.  Severe T’Storm Warning in effect for Champaign County with gusts to 60 mph & 1″ hail possible.  Measured gust of 58 mph with pea hail reported west of Champaign.

A few more of these will pop today in our area west of that Winamac to Camden to Frankfort to Lebnon line with thermomdynamics supporting this isolated severe wind/hail threat.  Any severe storm would behave in a pulse way where it briefly pulses up, belches out its wind &/or hail, then diminishes.  This is very typical of storms driven by largely thermodynamics, not dynamics & thermodynamics in tandem.
