Coldest Late March Weather Since 2002 (Better Comparison Is 2001)
Late March 2013 is & will continue to be so much colder (by a long shot) than the record-breaking March 2012. In fact, tomorrow looks to be 58 degrees colder than the high temperature last year at the same time.
Overall, overnight lows the next two nights & tomorrow high looks to be the coldest since March 26-27, 2002.
On those two days, 7″ of snowfall was on the ground & the high was 27 with a low of 16 on March 26 & 32 with a low of 10 on March 27. Actually, 2001 is a better comparison, though. March 26-27, 2001 we had NO snowpack & highs/lows were 28/16 & 34/17.
What makes our cold snap remarkable is that there is no snowpack here all the way to Wisconsin & it is still unseasonably cold.

Good to “see” you Chad…missed you on air! Hubs is chomping at the bit to go fishing. He so remembers last year. He and his friend were on Lake Michigan Feb 28th last year.
