Very Nice Spring Warmth So, So Close Tomorrow, You’ll Be Able to Almost Taste It……..Analog Has Hinted at the Two Brief Warm-Ups for WeeksMarch 14th, 2013 at 3:49 pm by Chad Evans under Chad's WLFI Weather Blog
Mobridge, South Dakota has 65 degrees right now & Grand Island, Nebraska 72. Bismarck, North Dakota has 57, while we sit at 39 as of 4 p.m. This is typical Greenland Block weather with the chilly weather in the Great Lakes & Southeast. Hard to believe with 65 in northern South Dakota there are Frost Advisories down to Tampa, Florida tonight, while Miles City Montana (at 3,000′) basks in sun & 66! Even parts of Nova Scotia, Canada are warmer than northern Georgia.
This very warm weather will get oh so, so close to us Friday.
St. Louis may see 76 degrees, Springfield, Illinois 66, Kansas City 80, Woodward, Oklahoma 85 & Austin, Texas 87. Even parts of South Dakota will see lower 70s.
If the next clipper will track northward, we will be much warmer than the forecast 48-60. If it tracks farther south, it will be more like 45-54. I like the 48-60, though. A high of 56 looks good for the Lafayette/West Lafayette area right now.
It would not take a substantial clipper push to the north to easily push 70 into our area, though. I know over the past few weeks, analog has indicated 64-67 with 70 possible along & south of I-74, which did happen Sunday (66 Lafayette, 62 Rochester, 68 Crawfordsville). There was also an analog response to very near St. Patrick’s day of a 65 to 71-degree push northward. However, computer models have not shown this, but they did not show the warm Sunday either.
