Rainfall Sunday & Monday Plus Rapid Snowmelt May Lead to River & Stream Flooding

With a rapid snowmelt & the potential of widespread rainfall late weekend-early next week, areas of river & stream flooding seem likely next week.
Right now, it is likely the Wabash will at least make it to flood stage with potential of it rising several feet above flood stage.
This is all dependent upon how much rain fall Sunday-Monday. Some models are painting 1-3″ of rainfall for the area. We will iron out some rainfall numbers with time to see if this is actually good output or not.
We need to watch this closely.

Got our snow to shovel. Got the breathtaking scenery. Got my first snow day since the Blizzard of 2011 (that was a stressful event in this household.) Now i am ready for the spring when nature comes alive again. I can’t wait til my son starts marching with his drum corps Blue Stars (bluestars.org) as they compete throughout the US and this year there are 4 shows in Indiana! Summer in Indiana…it is the best. When paired with the marching arts there is nothing better. There is my shameless plug for DCI (Drum Corps International) My son could give you countless WEATHER related stories regarding tour and venues! See…i brought my post full circle. *tee hee*
Noticed the big boys at the weather channel in Washington covering a dud storm they said the models messed up. Sounds like the models screwed up the big boys.

As far as the impending rain goes…I don’t become concerned until I see animals marching two-by-two towards a very large boat…
