2 p.m. Update…….Worst of the Conditions Tonight with Snow, Low Visibility & Strong Winds

March 5th, 2013 at 1:47 pm by under Chad's WLFI Weather Blog

Some wind gusts to 43 mph are possible in the viewing area tonight.  This will conincide with the snow, making for rough conditions.  The worst of the wind will tend to be in that 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. time frame.

As of 2:01 p.m., I have rain & sleet at WLFI with 34.0 degrees & an east wind up to 11 mph at times.

Currently, all snow is being reported for the entire northern half & western third of the viewing area.

Up to 1.2″ of snow has been reported in Fulton County & 1.1″ in Newton County.  3″ has been reported around Chicago with 5″ at Rockford & 5″ near DeKalb, Illinois.

    Duane C?

Are you the Duane C that is a teacher at Lafayette School Corp? If so, its good to know you surf on the blog all day when you should be teaching.

    James,
Are you aware teachers have prep time throughout the day? Also, I don’t know who Duane C is, but it’s possible he is in charge of an after-school activity and needed to check on the current weather conditions. He has since deleted whatever comment was here, so I’m not sure what he was adding. When did you become the teacher police? Teachers are evaluated by the state on their ISTEP scores and I’m pretty sure he’s not just over there kicking up his feet during the first week of ISTEP testing. I may be wrong, but I’d prefer to give him the benefit of the doubt.

  13. crissy says:

James if duane c is a teacher it isn’t a bad thing for him to check the blog and keep updated its shows great concern for the weather.. a few of my ddaughters teachers talk to them about the forecast and outcome as part of the course also knowing what’s going on can help ease their concerns… BTW teachers get breaks during class change lunches and when children are doing homework..

  14. Autumn says:

    I agree crissy.

  15. steve says:

Um not sure where I’m going to put all of this snow

  17. Kathy-West Lebanon says:

Now a good inch in Remington, snow is heavier.

  19. Valerie says:

Just SW of Lafaytte hoping it the last snow for the season. A reminder to take your time getting home and be on the look out for emergency crews. 911 calls with be twice as bad the worst the weather is.
