Complex Weather System for Mix & Snow

March 4th, 2013 at 4:28 pm by under Chad's WLFI Weather Blog

Complex weather system is going to bring us the mix & snowfall to our area over the next 1.5 days.

Alberta Clipper will dive southeastward, meanwhile, low-level jet will allow mix of rain, freezing rain & sleet/snow showers to blossom overnight.  This will be with us even into tomorrow.  Minor ice accumulations are possible, especially in the north.

As upper jet streak roars southward, new low will form in Kentucky, meanwhile Clipper cold upper low will pivot in & change everything to snow by tomorrow afternoon-evening.

Tomorrow night, we will be in deformation zone of upper low’s snow, while new surface low will begin to transition to big East Coast Nor’Easter.

By Wednesday, metamorphosis will be ramping up with significant Nor’Easter blowing up on the East Coast with very heavy snowfall there.
