Update on Snowfall Monday Night-Tuesday Night
I like a sort of NAM-GFS model combo, but I lean MUCH, MUCH more heavily towards the NAM model. That said, the GFS puts 1″ in the far south to over 6″ in our north. NAM puts less than 1″ in our south & up to 2.5″ in our north.
I like a 1-4″ snowfall totall right now with 2-2.5″ in the Lafayette area & more like 4″ around Morocco, Rensselaer & Winamac & more like 1-1.5″ at Kingman, New Ross & Ladoga.
Changes are STILL POSSIBLE with this forecast. If this system wobbles a bit, the 6-8″ totals could move southeastward. In fact, it is looking like parts of Minnesota to Iowa & northwest Illinois could see 10-12″ in spots.
My thoughts exactly, a couple of inches! Thanks Chad.
Until tomorrow when storm decides to dive way south or stay north and we get all rain or absolutely nothing. Just sayin happened more than once?!!..
Thank you Chad! Wonder if this is going to be just a wintry mess? However like Chad stated, If it wobbles..I dont like “if’s”
I admit, I dont like snow, but it is pretty if I have no place to go. However I love weather watching. I am so ready for spring:) with no severe weather. Maybe I will bring you snow lovers luck by making “White Chili” today:)
Tuesday Tuesday accumulation north of Lafayette 4-6 inches. South of Lafayette 2 inches. Maybe. That’s WC and Nws Roy From Joilet
Chad is right on line he is going with 4 north and 2 south low end. Totals nws north 4-6. South 2-4 the line being n Lafayette warm weather taken into exception a winter storm watch will be issued for the 4-6 range either today or tomorrow per nws Chicago info.
Has anyone put up a timeline on when the snow is supposed to start falling? Thanks!
