1.0″ of Snowfall Reported In Places This Evening So Far…….0.4″ Snow WLFIFebruary 27th, 2013 at 10:00 pm by Chad Evans under Chad's WLFI Weather Blog
I have measured 0.4″ of snow at WLFI as of 10 p.m. Highways & city streets are wet, but less-traveled paved roads are getting slushy & grass is white. Temperature is sitting at 32.1 degrees with brisk west winds.
The viewing area as a whole has seen 0.1″ to 1.0″ of snow this evening. The lowest totals have been in Warren & parts of White & Benton counties.
I received reports of 1.0″ at Kentland, near Frankfort, Atlanta & near Russiaville.
The heaviest snowfall in has been in the Indianapolis area with a band of 1-1.5″ of snowfall.
Two-day totals amount to anywhere from a 0.1″ to 3.0″ of snowfall. What has fallen this evening-tonight to tomorrow should add up to around 1″ to 2″. That number still looks good.
I keep saying “periodic snow” because we continue to get these bands of more substantial snow from time to time. It never really stops snowing anywhere, but in these bands pivoting around the upper low in Michigan, it picks up.
One of those bands is moving southward out of our northern counties. Meanwhile, another band is moving through Clinton & Howard to Madison counties.
