Temperature has dropped from 35 to 32 at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport with heavy snow now falling. Kankakee has gone to snow with 32. Rantoul, Illinois (east-central Illinois) now has all snow with 34. Jasper County Airport is reporting rain/snow/sleet mix as of 3 p.m. with 34. Fowler has rain & 34. Here at WLFi, it is 35 with light rain. Kentland just reported all snow.
Dynamic cooling associated with upper low Illinois is moving northward & eastward. This will lead to gradual change-over to snow with time this evening-tonight in the viewing area. It will occur in the northwest counties first.
