Windy Weather with Snow Showers & Much Colder

February 13th, 2013 at 10:55 pm by under Chad's WLFI Weather Blog

Strong, gusty winds with gusts of 35-41 mph are likely Thursday, Friday & Saturday.  Friday & Saturday looks much colder with wind chills dropping below zero at times.

Also, some snow showers Friday to Saturday may bring 1″ or less of snowfall accumulation in places in the viewing area.

Temperatures will rise Sunday night & Monday night.  Some sleet is possible, followed by rain Monday.  The rain may end as snow Tuesday.  Any accumulation looks minor.

Later next week snow is possible as storm system develops to our southwest.  This needs to be watched for accumulations, though it is currently unclear whether it will amount to a lot of snow.  Late February has had some monster snows.  We will see how this one unfolds.  Certainly, more will be revealed in the coming days.

Duane..I sure do hope so…just one good snow..everyone has to agree on a day of doing nothing but maybe playing in the snow with your kiddos…crawling up on the sofa with a blanket and a movie..enjoying a quiet evening in front of the fire with your better half…or for some making the $$$$ they need to pay their bills. ;)

    Charlene,

My son has never experienced a big snow. He is in high school. I would love for him to see some of the weather I saw a youngster back in the 70s. I know bad weather causes so many problems, but a really big snow event would be neat. Until you experience one, you don’t fully appreciate it!

Duane – I take it you are new to the area then – because about 5 years ago we had around 17 or 18 inches of snow. That was a monstor storm.

  14. Duane C says:

JEM, I guess I don’t remember the snow that you are talking about. Refresh my memory…month and year.

    Ironically…It was February 18,2008. I just didn’t remember it until I looked it up…
