Showers This Afternoon-Evening

February 7th, 2013 at 10:57 am by under Chad's WLFI Weather Blog

We have had a couple isolated rain/sleet showers move through northern Newton & Jasper counties this morning, otherwise the viewing area has been dry. Some nice, dry air has eroded away clouds in a nice big hole in our region, so about 85% of the viewing area is mostly sunny as of 11 a.m.

However, a nice band of showers is residing west of I-57 in Illinois & the solid overcast coincides with it almost immediately there.  So, it may stay pretty nice & bright out until just before rainfall arrival.  Showers should arrive in the afternoon-evening.  High temperatures today will run in the 40s.

It is so ni e out today… My friends and family have been posting pictures on facebook of their snow storm up in northern illinois and southern wisconsin and i must say i am a tad bit missing it.. As long as i can stay in and not have to drive in it… Lol and stooges i have staryed the snow dance.. My kids when we lived in mchenry country illinois heard at school a couple of years ago that if you slept with pjs inside out and backwords and slept with a spoon there would be enough snow to call a snow day with school lol it only worked one time and that was.the blizzard of 2011 where we had 6 foot drifts it was wonderful.. Snowed in for 2.days and school was cancled for the rest of the week… So maybe if we all do this the stooges will get their snow
