We had some weather like this in West Lafayette in the year 1916. Between Friday January 29 and Monday Jan. 31 of that year, 3.07 inches of rain fell at West Lafayette. Many wires were down in various parts of the city because of the storm. The Wabash river rose to almost 22 feet and the League baseball park in the West Side bottom land was under about 12 feet of water. But in those days people never knew what was coming. Only 0.2 inches of snow fell during January 1916 and it was 50 degrees on Jan. 29, but the temp. fell to 9 degrees by February 1st. In Feb. 1916 4 inches of snow fell during that month, and 3.6 inches of snow fell during March 1916. Will we get 3 inches of snow this March?
