Strong Winds Lastnight………Thursday-Friday Looking More and More Like a Good Chunk Snow Than Mix
Thursday-Friday system looks more and more like a good chunk of it being snow and accumulating snowfall at that. I wouldn’t be surprised to see some mix in our south & southeast, but right now it appears a substantial snowfall could be in the offing.
Soundings support largely snow with temperatures in the 20s as storm continues to take more of a southerly track.
I would shoot for a 4-6″ snowfall, right now (with mix in southern/southeastern counties), but is subject to change. We will continue to monitor & see where the heaviest snowfall sets up.
Clipper tonight will bring some snow shower and a coating in places nonetheless with the coldest day time high in two years on Tuesday (around 12).

I’m using reverse psychology so I can jinx myself! No way it’s going to snow!
What do you think about snowfall for Newton County? For once I wouldn’t mind a weather surprise!
Lets just not talk about it and maybe we will get lucky lol
I’m using autumns philosophy…believe it when I see it!
Seems somewhat promising. The actual system itself won’t be fully sampled until Wednesday. So I would say by Wednesday we will know for sure. I’m just concerned with lack of snowpack to the north that the cold might not hold up around here.
Im not real impressed with model run. But I will keep fingers crossed.
Newton County 2 inches
Sceptical… we’ll see.
Chad says 4-6 inches wow
