Neat Snow Shot……….Good QuestionJanuary 7th, 2013 at 10:02 pm by Chad Evans under Chad's WLFI Weather Blog
Snow cover continues to compress & melt away, but there is still a widespread, substantial pack across the viewing area & over much of Indiana, in general. Our snow pack at WLFI has wittled down from 3.8″ to 1.2″ from December 26 to January 7 at the 7 p.m. measurement time at the station. This shot was taken late today with the clear skies across the region:
Jim from Kentland had a good question. Will next week’s snow be a big one? Monster also was inquiring after looking at the data & seeing 5-10″.
I still like the original prediction of 2-6″ & that still looks good right now with 2″ in the northwest to 6″ in the southeast. However, icing will be possible just east & southeast of here & potential exists for that to track more our direction.
Regardless, winter weather event potential is still there centered near January 15.
We will see if there are changes in the track of the storm & amounts. This is certainly possible.
