Brief, Potent Warm-Up with Rain……Then Colder Pattern with Return of Snow
Data continues to look warmer later this week with two waves of rainfall. The first wave looks to be around Thursday, the other Friday to perhaps Saturday. Highs will be in the 40s Wednesday & Thursday with highs around 52 Friday & Saturday.
By Sunday, highs will only be in the 20s.
After that, need to watch storm coming out of the northern Gulf riding up strong cold front to our east. This will have a band of snow on its backside that bears watching for around January 15.
After that, it is consistent northwest flow with a clipper of minor snowfall around January 18-19. NAO/AO looks pretty negative for much of the period January 14-24 with many days of highs in the 20s & a night or two 0-5 degrees.
All sounds good…..get rid of the “dirty snow” and then pile fresh snow on!!!!
During the brief warm up, might be a good idea to take advantage of the good weather (despite the rain) to get our cars washed and waxed again before the next round of salt and sand being spread upon our roads to keep us safe.
