0.1″ Snow As of 1:35 p.m.
0.1″ has been measured as of 1:35 p.m. at WLFI. Snow is sticking to trees, old snow pack, but not roads & largely not cars.
Temperature was 35.6 at onset of snow, now it has evaporatively cooled to 31.1, so snow should begin to stick better. A bit of lulling may occur for a bit this afternoon, followed by the bulk of the snow this evening & tonight.
Banding features are already noted with a band of heavy snow running from the southeast side of Indianapolis to northeast Boone County. Another band is sitting in northern Newton, Jasper & Pulaski counties.
Additional moderate snowfall banding is seen in central Illinois.
With falling temperatures & higher snowfall rates arriving this evening-tonight, conditions will tend to worsen as the snow sticks to roadways.
