New Information On New Years Eve-Day Snowfall & Next Friday Snowfall
A wave of some snow is possible late afternoon Monday-evening. After a break, looks like the main wave of snow Monday night-Tuesday morning.
1.5-6″ still looks possible with 3-3.5″ around Lafayette total by Tuesday morning. This is subject to tweaking, however. Winds of 15-25 mph from the southeast, then east & northeast will accompany the snow.
An Alberta Clipper will arrive Friday with 1-2″ possible after the coldest weather of season (so far) later next week. Highs Wednesday-Thursday will be near 22 with lows near 8.
Pattern will shift for a bit around January 9 with 40s & some rainfall.
Where is it?
Seeing is believing…we havent seen any real snow yet this winter…always getting my hopes up, and then it goes south, or north, anywhere but here.
I have had 13.8″ of snow in December. I am quite sure that this eclipses our entire 2011-12 winter snowfall. How much total did you have in Lafayette last winter?
Mad man they drag you along and st the end whoops no snow.
Drifting has made the roads ICY! Tried to make the trek down from Logansport to Sharpesville to see the great computer animated Christmas light display before they end the season and encountered nothing but slow speeds along ice and small drift covered roads. US 31 South of Indiana 26 was even closed for awhile probably because of the road conditions. In others words everyone be carefull and slow down on North-South roads especially in open areas.
James 43 is the same way
Mad man this is a dud Nws in Chicago is saying 30 percent chance of snow.
I know its just our luck, but you never know, maybe we will get a wrap around, hell who knows at this point
