Very Heavy Snow Band Lined Up Peru to Crawfordsville

December 26th, 2012 at 11:19 am by under Chad's WLFI Weather Blog

3′ drifts reported in Clinton County & Randy said he has a 2′ drift in his driveway at Frankfort.  He told me roads are nearly impassable in Frankfort.

Very heavy snow band is lining up from Peru to Crawfordsville with 1-2″ per hours rates & winds gusting 45 mph.  Near white-out conditions with this band, which is pivoting west & northwestward.

  3. ML in Rochester says:

Very slick roads in Rochester. Winds are 16mph with gusts to 28 mph.

My sister is on her way to Warsaw, and she stated heavy snow in that area.

    Please be careful!

just enough to cover the ground here in Remington, as well as the streets of course. Temp had dropped to 28* with winds about 22-25 mph.

    Stay safe everyone!

So, any idea on how much longer it’s going to keep snowing?

  6. Paul says:

MA – is the snow still coming down? Will there be enough to sled this afternoon?

  7. Kevin says:

Light snow in downtown laf. Winds calm with occasional gusts.

  8. Mary Anne Best says:

Paul, still snowing but very lightly. Yeah, I’d think there is enough to sled…what kind of sled are you talking?

  9. Doug in Flora says:

Light snow here…winds becoming very strong, gusty. Haven’t been out to measure snowfall…estimate between two and three inches.

  10. Sw lafayette says:

    This storms a dud….again

  11. Linda - Monon says:

Considerable snow here, maybe 4 inches, hard to tell with the drifting but did just dig out a 1.5′ snow drift to get to the mailbox…so we have some white stuff! Still blowing not quite as hard as earlier. All – be safe!

  12. Ben in Wolcott says:

3″ here with some 5″ drifts

  13. James Smith says:

So the snow coming this weekend will it give the people that didn’t get hardly anything something exciting? Hopefully 3+ inches?

  14. Doug in Flora says:

Wind now strong, steady here from N-NE. Snow virtually horizontal.

  15. James says:

I live in fountain county and where I am there is hardly enough snow to cover the grass and I am really disappointed. I don’t know what is going on but I think someone installed a weather bubble over our county. We don’t hardly get strong storms in the summer or big snows in the winter anymore. I want both of them.

  16. Ryan H says:

Been out to shovel. Once you shovel it, the snow falling is melting on contact. It must be close to 32 degrees outside.

  17. Jim says:

The lid us in the hillbilly mansions in remongton
