Everything looks good with out-going forecast as of 2 a.m. We check to see if any tweaks need to be made with next model run, then more of a now-casting (using radar trends, reports, snowfall rates, etc.) concept will be used to forecast the snow & wind. (though not totally will still examine model data).
Winds are already gusting to 31 mph at Morocco, Fowler & Covington. At West Lafayette, they are gusting to 26 mph.
Pfffffft.
(that’s the sound of wind leaking from my sails as “Euclid” becomes less and less of a sledding opportunity)
Thunder snow in Washington Indiana. Most intense snow I have seen. Jumped right out of bed.

Snow been on our doorstep for two hours according to radar, precip not reaching the ground yet. For us snow lovers, think were screwed here!!
what a let down, what gets me is that all the heavy snow goes to places where the next day it warms up to like 40 to 50 degrees and melts off,will we ever get anything north of lafayette, i just dont understand this winter weather snow tracks i guess. freakin unbelievable!!!!!

Last time I checked the warning, heaviest snow between 10-2 so ……..
To go along with Joy’s post…and then winds will be worst between 2-5pm.
What a bummer
So far all I’ve seen is Virga. Looking at radar you’d think it had been snowing for hours but it’s evaporating before reaching the ground.
Just started to snow where I aqm in Lafayette. When I let my dogs outside it was not snowing, 5 mins later, I let them in they were white!.. snow covered! Started fast.
Has not taken but around 10 mins., for the sidewalks and cars to be coverd with snow, yes it is light but it is blowing.
Coming down good around Harrison HS.
Just got to work in Logansport and the winds are gusting and the sidewalks are already covered.
Zero over here in Warren Co. yet… and Santa brought me a new snowmobile. Come on storm!
Sidewalks and grass is covered in downtown Lafayette. Streets have been treated but the snow is starting to stick to the roads and not melt. Winds isn’t bad…probably because of the building downtowns. Visbilit
Viability is slowly deteriorating.
East side crawfordsville…rural area white out conditions roads becoming impassable for cars and non 4 wd vehicles.
Getting hammered just colfax/Thorntown area! If it continues like this we are screwed! Especially being the last one on Boone County Electricty if the power goes out it could be a few days!
Nothing at all in Monticello.
half hour later, our street is snow covered and getting slick. I would not like to be in the on the roads today. Hope all stay safe.

Snowing in Rochester with ENE winds of 14mph.
Newton County…..no snow for us other than a dusting is forecast for today. Right now it is overcast and doing nothing precipitation-wise.
Not a flake in Remington although radar shows snow. Lots of virga but we do have the winds. Going to get bird feed to get feeders filled in case it does snow here. I know we will get only an inch or two at the most where I am located.

Moderate snow with wind here in West Lafayette…..the flakes are quite small though. It makes me think that this won’t add up to too much, but at least it puts you in the Post-Christmas spirit.
9th St hill is backed up, due to cars not getting traction.
I took my Christmas tree out for the birds.. Made several peanut butter/birdseed ornaments hung to offer food & shelter & pure entertainment to watch them flutter in a nice snowstorm. My 4 kitties enjoy it too.
