Next Week’s Potential of Wintry Weather
I still like the idea of a winter weather event getting in here the day after Christmas. Model & analog data supports it (some more than others, though).
It still looks like an Inside Runner system, which tends to form in the far northern Gulf of Mexico then move north & northeastward with abundant, deep moisture supporting widespread, significant precipitation. It looks to not only have a deep Gulf of Mexico connection, but a deep Pacific connection with that incredibly active subtropical jet, too.
Exact track is in question & will determine whether or not it is mainly sleet/freezing rain, sleet, snow or a combination of all of these winter precipitation types. How much would fall of each or just one is dependent on the track.
