Outlook Now to Mid-August
Trend now-August is for above-normal temperatures & below-normal rainfall. The extreme heat to our west will flirt with us & bulge a bit eastward time to time, especially in early August.
However, I still do think we will get some nights in the 50s (especially with those dry soils & dry air, which allow your nighttime temperature to fall more) around here time to time in August & rather than solid 100s & 90s, spurts of 85-90 will bleed in from the northeast.

How I look forward to nights in the 50s. I dread seeing our NIPSCO bill this month!!
MA in REM where the temp is still at 87* with zero wind.
Our bill wasn’t too bad this last month. We keep it at 73 degrees and we paid $145. Not too bad I guess. It has been tremendously hot.
Weird thing happened today around 6p.. Out walking with the family, right when the sun started peeking through and clouds moved out from overhead.. Blue skies directly above and I felt a drop on my arm! At first my husband didn’t believe me but I spotted two more on the ground and saw one on my daughter’s stroller.. A minute later he felt one too.
What gives?? We debated the meterologic meaning/feasibility.. Can anyone explain?
Just got a measurable amount of rain come through. I counted 36 rain drops on the back patio.
one question: why dont we use cloud seeding to create artificial rainfall?
