Accumulating Snowfall (Some Sleet) Monday Night-Tuesday Morning (But It Won’t Last Long at All)

Some of you are headed for zero or a bit below tonight with everyone as least middle single digits.  The best potential of zero or below is in that zone of deeper snow cover in our northern & especially our northwestern counties.

With dense, molasses-like cold in place, it will be very hard to displace it with the next system approaching.  This said, a wave of snow, with perhaps some sleet mixed in (mainly southwest counties) will pass 12 a.m.-7 a.m. time frame Monday night-Tuesday morning.

Much warmer air will begin to overspread the area behind the snow with highs near 40 Tuesday.  This, combined with areas of light rain & fog & low, gray clouds due to warm air riding in, will melt a lot of it.  More substantial rainfall will arrive Wednesday & last into Thursday with highs as high as 45-50, washing away & melting any lingering snow.

After a brief cool snap, 50s are possible around February 22 with rain.
